Tables of 4

Play Snake and Ladder online with friends

Snake and Ladder is pure luck and pure drama. Roll the die, climb a ladder, then watch a snake drag you from the nineties back down to the twenties. It is the perfect game for small children and grandparents to play on the same table, because nobody has an advantage.

How Snake and Ladder plays on Game Room

  1. Join the host's night from the code or link with your name.
  2. Game Room seats everyone at tables of up to four. A short table gets a computer player so nobody plays alone.
  3. On your turn, tap to roll the die and your counter moves automatically.
  4. Land at the bottom of a ladder and you climb. Land on a snake's head and you slide down.
  5. You have 15 seconds per turn. If you do not roll in time, Game Room rolls for you.
  6. The first to reach square 100 wins the table. If time runs out first, the furthest along wins.

The rules

  • You roll one die per turn.
  • Ladders take you up. Snakes take you down.
  • You need the exact number to land on 100. If your roll would take you past it, you stay where you are.
  • The first to land on square 100 wins.
  • If the host's timer ends first, players are ranked by the square they have reached.
  • Points by place: at a table of four, 1st earns 1,000, 2nd 750, 3rd 500 and 4th 250.
  • Computer players can take places at a table but never get points on the leaderboard.

Tips to win

  • There is no strategy in the dice, so enjoy it and talk plenty of trash on the call.
  • Roll promptly. The faster your table plays, the more turns everyone gets before time is up.
  • Near the end, watch for the snakes in the nineties. Your heart will thank you for being prepared.
