Name That Tune: guess the Naija song

Name That Tune plays a short clip of a Naija hit and you race to pick the song. From Afrobeats bangers to the old school jams your parents still dance to, it gets the whole room singing along, even the people who said they were only watching.

How Name That Tune plays on Game Room

1. Join from the host's link in your phone browser and turn your phone volume up.
2. Each question plays a music clip on your phone.
3. Pick the song from four options. You have 35 seconds per question.
4. The quicker you pick the right song, the more points you earn.
5. After each clip, the answer is revealed with the track credit.
6. Round points go onto the night's leaderboard when the game ends.

The rules

• Each question plays a clip of up to 30 seconds from a real Naija song.
• There are four song choices and one is right.
• You have 35 seconds to answer each question.
• The round is worth up to 1,000 points, shared across the questions.
• Correct answers score between half and all of a question's points, depending on speed.
• Wrong answers score zero.
• The clip plays on your own phone, so you are not relying on the call's sound.

Tips to win

• Use earphones if the call is noisy. The clip plays on your phone, not through the video call.
• Listen for the voice first. Recognising the artist often narrows four choices down to one.
• Do not wait for the chorus if you already know it. Every second costs points.
• Play some old school Naija music in the week before. Classics come up alongside new releases.
