Emoji Nollywood: guess the film from the emoji

Emoji Nollywood gives you a short line of emoji and asks you to work out which Nollywood film, TV show, song or album it describes. Some clues are obvious, some are wicked, and the arguments about 'how was that supposed to be a wedding?' are half the fun.

How Emoji Nollywood plays on Game Room

1. Join the night from the host's link in your phone's browser with just your name.
2. When Emoji Nollywood starts, a row of emoji appears on every phone at the same time.
3. Pick the title it describes from the four choices on screen.
4. You have 25 seconds per clue, and a faster correct answer scores more.
5. The answer is shown after every clue so everyone can laugh or protest together.
6. Your points for the round are added to the night's leaderboard.

The rules

• Each clue is a line of emoji standing for a Nollywood film, a TV show, a song or an album.
• There are four possible answers and one is right.
• You have 25 seconds to answer each clue.
• The whole round is worth up to 1,000 points, split evenly across the clues.
• Correct answers earn from half to all of a clue's points, depending on how quickly you answer.
• Wrong answers score zero. There is no penalty beyond that.
• Clues are ordered from easier to harder.

Tips to win

• Read the emoji out loud in your head as a sentence. Many clues are a story told in pictures.
• Look for the odd emoji out: it is usually the key word in the title.
• Rule out options that do not fit the number of ideas in the clue.
• Brush up on classic Nollywood and recent hits before game night. Old favourites come up as well as new ones.
