Naija trivia quiz online with your people

Naija Trivia is a quick-fire quiz on Nigeria and the wider world: history, music, food, sport, places and the things every Nigerian is supposed to know. Everybody answers at the same time on their own phone, so the uncle who claims he knows everything finally has to prove it in front of the whole family.

How Naija Trivia plays on Game Room

1. The host adds Naija Trivia to the night on gameroomnaija.com and shares the game code or link.
2. Open the link in your phone's browser, type your name and you are in. No app, no sign-up.
3. Stay on your Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp call while you play.
4. Each question shows four answers. Tap the one you think is right before the 25 seconds run out.
5. After each question everyone sees the right answer and how the room voted.
6. When the round ends, the scores go straight onto the night's leaderboard.

The rules

• Every question has four options and only one is correct.
• You get 25 seconds per question.
• The round is worth up to 1,000 points, shared across all its questions.
• A correct answer earns between half and all of that question's points, depending on how fast you tapped.
• A wrong answer or no answer scores zero, but nothing is taken away.
• Questions start easier and get harder as the round goes on.
• The host sets how long the round runs, so the number of questions depends on the night's plan.

Tips to win

• Speed matters, but a fast wrong answer is worth nothing. Read all four options once before you tap.
• If you are torn between two answers, go with your first instinct and save the seconds.
• Keep your phone screen on and your thumb ready: the first seconds of each question are worth the most.
• Watch the reveal after each question. The room's votes often hint at which topics trip people up.
