Market Price: guess the price in naira

Market Price asks how much everyday things cost in Nigeria and you type your best guess in naira. The closer you are, the more you score. Expect gasps, groans and at least one person who has clearly not been to the market since 2015.

How Market Price plays on Game Room

1. Join from the host's link in your phone browser with just your name.
2. Each question names an item and asks for its price.
3. Type your guess as a number in naira. You can write 1060 or 1,060 or even ₦1,060.
4. You have 30 seconds to send your guess.
5. The real price is revealed after each question, with when it was checked.
6. Your points for the round go onto the night's leaderboard.

The rules

• Every answer is a whole number of naira.
• You have 30 seconds per question.
• An exact guess earns the question's full points.
• Points fall evenly the further off you are, reaching zero at 50% too high or too low.
• Speed does not matter in this game. Only how close you get.
• The round is worth up to 1,000 points across its questions.
• A blank or unreadable answer scores zero.

Tips to win

• Use the full 30 seconds. There is no prize for answering first here.
• Always type something. Even a rough guess near the right range earns points, while a blank earns none.
• Prices change fast. Think about what things cost recently, not when you last lived at home.
• Ask yourself whether the item is usually sold in bulk or small portions before you guess.
