Draw Am: play pictionary online with friends

Draw Am is pictionary, Naija style. One person in your group gets a secret word and draws it on their phone while the others race to type the answer. Nobody is an artist, which is exactly why it is so funny.

How Draw Am plays on Game Room

1. Join from the host's link with just your name.
2. Game Room splits everyone into groups of about five.
3. Each turn, one member of every group is sent a secret word and draws it on their phone screen.
4. Everyone else in the group sees the drawing and types guesses on their own phone.
5. Each turn lasts about 72 seconds, then the word is revealed and the next person draws.
6. After a turn, guessers can vote if the drawer wrote letters or numbers.

The rules

• Draw pictures only. No writing letters or numbers.
• Guessers type their guesses. Capitals, spaces, hyphens and accents are ignored, so 'puff puff' and 'Puff-puff' both count.
• The faster you guess right, the more you earn as a guesser.
• The drawer earns points based on how many of the group guessed the word.
• If most guessers vote that the drawer wrote letters or numbers, the drawer gets nothing for that turn.
• Everyone takes turns drawing as the round goes on.
• Scores are compared within your group. The best in each group earns 1,000 and the rest are scaled to match.

Tips to win

• Draw the biggest idea first. A rough shape now beats a perfect picture too late.
• For long phrases, draw one part at a time and let your group build the answer.
• As a guesser, type every idea that comes to mind. Wrong guesses cost nothing.
• Watch the letter count on screen. It tells you how long the word is.
